5 Years Later | Mariel & Michael

October 18, 2019

Well I thought I would do something a bit different -- blog MY own wedding! It has been 5 years since Michael and I got married and this milestone deserves something special. After we go married that is when I transitioned from taking portraits and kids to love, couples and weddings. It has been such a ride these years and looking at these photos bring back those priceless memories of the best day ever 10.18.14!!

We got married at one of my favorite places Elizabeth Park in West Hartford, Connecticut. The rose garden is so beautiful & some of my favorite pictures. I knew I wanted to get married outside and this park matches all my expectations and I knew wasn't a ballroom type of girl so the Pond House on the grounds of the park was unique & intimate enough.

Michael & I spend the night before apart - he got ready at our house & me and my childhood home. I had a terrible night's sleep but all my girls were together and it was such a fun time being there together. I love the custom pjs bottoms as a gift As I got into the limo and we drove to Hartford it began to sprinkle but my girls lied and said it wasn't raining (bless them). By the time we got to the venue it has stopped.

I remember sitting anxiously as I saw Mike at the alter - I almost lost it right then and there! Our ceremony was perfect and I held it together but barely. One of my favorite moments was when my Godmother did her reading the sun came out and I felt it was a gift and blessing.

The photos in the rose garden are my favorite. The speeches from our best man and maid of honor made us laugh & cry! The after party around Hartford was amazing as well.
