Crystal Ballroom | The Echevarrias

October 1, 2018

This wedding at the Crystal Ballroom in Naugatuck, CT was one big party! This venue with its gorgeous chandeliers has been around for more than 30 years and where the groom's parents got married.

Kathy and Aaron met through his cousin who was also the bride's best friend from college. They say when you are "joking" it always has a half truth in it so when she said an offhand comment to “set me up with your cousin” she did. A few days later, Aaron sent a message to hang out. They met up to at the mall and went to Chuck E .Cheese to play games and break the ice. I really think this first date really showed off their fun nature right from the start.

After some years together and a daughter later, Aaron proposed while on a family vacation in Rhode Island. Kathy's twin sister was in on the plan along with Aaron’s sister and brother-in-law who suggested a walk on the beach. Under the facade of “let’s take some pictures, we don’t have any pictures together!” While they were walking and talking Kathy became distracted and Aaron made his move. When she turned around he was down on one knee -- the rest is history!

The dance floor was packed all night and Custom Cakes by Sarah outdid herself with a Patriots inspired side for Aaron and a classic bridal white for Kathy. Thank you so much for letting me into your lives and for the sweetest review left on all social platforms!

Smiles,
Mariel

Ways to my heart include coffee, feeding me before I am "hangry" and anything shabby chic/rustic. My vintage camera collection grows everday and I am usually smiling and quoting random movies. Most importantly Mariel O. Photo celebrates love in all forms regardless of race, religion, or sexual orientation & gender identity.
