End of Year Review Associate Shooting | 2019

January 15, 2020

There are some beautiful *bonus* weddings I got to witness this year from so many talented photographers. It is so fun to be able to be an associate for the day! In a way it's more relaxing. I get to take the time for more creative shots and to be more observant. This year most of my experiences was shooting with Courtney Lynn (who my couples have seen). We got into a great rhythm this year and when you find a great professional working relationship you hold on to it.

One moment that stuck out to me was shooting my first same sex wedding. I know what you're thinking but I truly haven't had the opportunity to photograph them even though I am very inclusive and love love! These two brides got ready in the same space with a divider wall up which was different in a way that I think a lot of couples should start doing that. Everyone was together and the energy was fantastic!

While shooting with Rob Skinner at a vineyard I had some time with just me and the bride to capture details and that never happens. The summer colors and flowers matched with the rustic theme. Our friends at Wood Acre Farm brought their stunning horse Tucker.

The florals were so swoonworthy for Kevin and Lisa's day at the Barns at Wesleyan Hills. I've worked with the florist before Alyssa at The Green Petal and I could tell right away that these were her work. I also got to see my dear friend Hair by Jessie Ryan styling everyone so perfectly. Can we also talk about the red tux?! So classy Kevin!

I think the farthest I traveled was to Providence, RI for Harrison & Nishi's day but it was worth it. The history of the Aldridge House and cute homes of the area was my jam. There was a break from tradition here with Nishi in a gold two piece dress and the couple walking down the aisle together before becoming official.

Shooting for Togo and Robbi was at Tunxis Country Club under the pavilion which was set in the woods and the bridal suite had amazing light. I also was sooning over the outfit change Robbi had in mind for the party dancing. Sequins and jean jacket combo?!

I loved Katie's dress that came from Hungry where the groom Patrick has roots. The bow tie detail were a great way to have everything comes together.

Thank you so much to all the my friendors I've met and worked with old and new! Enjoy some of this year's favorites.
