Mariel Monthly | November

November 28, 2020

Its my favorite month of the year! My birthday month, my favorite holiday and weather! It just has everything I enjoy. Recovering from my fertility struggles I have been dedicated to staying active, which I have documented on my Instagram stories. We had a stretch of summer weather with temps in the 70s! It was so refreshing to take many walks around my neighborhood and look at all the colors.

My birthday fell on a Thursday and Michael truly went all out! Got me a signed poster from my favorite band and 4 bouquets of flowers!! I mean the man went crazy spoiling me. I took the day off from work and went shopping! I was in need of some jeans and god knows the last time I went to a mall but it was relaxing and just what was needed. That weekend I got to see my friends and spend a meal together catching up and celebrating that we had a new President Elect in Joe Biden! Let me tell you the election stress was real.

Thanksgiving was way more low key than normal because hey! 2020 - but Michael and I went to my parents and just enjoyed a bit of time together. Normally we travel up to the Boston area to my aunt's and have a huge gathering. After we get stuffed we always take a walk down to the water and reflect. Family is why I enjoy this time so much! Mike's parents usually celebrate with us on the following Saturday but this year got to just see his sister, boyfriend and our nephew.

This year has been hard in so many ways and in particular the last few months. I lost my grandmother Margarita at 93 years young! She was a tough cookie who was so giving and supportive of my sister and I. We are proud to be her granddaughters! She would always find four leaf clovers and we all loved to tag sale and thrift together! If you all weren't aware the MAR part of my first name is for her! We know she is at peace and watching over us.
