A Powder Ridge Park Wedding

Middlefield, Connecticut

So I am a little behind with this blog post but this wedding in early October was stunning! The day started pretty cool and cloudy but really turned around with amazing light. I showed up at Powder Ridge Park in Middlefield, Connecticut to start with the bride. Mary, her girls, and both mothers were there - pretty calm and collected, just as I suspected. The hair and make up team just had a few more touch ups. I unpacked the dress and boy the sparkle was blinding and moving the dress proved it heavy too!! Mary and Todd chose do a first look and I just love this new  tradition. It allows the couple to have a private moment without the eyes of all their guests and allows for a lot of the posed family portraits out of the way. The whole day was full of emotion from the couple's first look to daddy/daughter (!) as well as Mary's sisters speeches. The joining of families is the best part about a wedding and these two were so sweet..

One of my favorite parts of the day was when Mary (an environmental scientist) mentioned in her vows that she had found her "nerd" I mean that's what we all want, is to find that person who is mutually weird & accepts us and we call it love (or something like that right? I don't know the quote directly). The ceremony on a mountain what nothing short of spectacular and the guests had a great time on the lift.

All smiles,

Mariel

This Daddy/Daughter first look had me sniffling for sure
The Glow during portrait time was photographer heaven!!
