Meet Mariel

This blog is a small representation of my most current sessions, my clients love stories and all the adventures I am privilaged to go on! Ways to my heart include coffee, feeding me before I am "hangry" and anything shabby chic/rustic. My vintage camera collection grows everday and I am usually smiling and quoting random movies. Most importantly Mariel O. Photo celebrates love in all forms regardless of race, religion, or sexual orientation & gender identity.

May is always a busy month full of holidays and birthdays! Even though Covid-19 put a damper on traditional gathering and celebration there was still some form of it taking place. As I reflect on this month I realize how lucky I am. Even though my first wedding was suppose to be on the 14th it means more to me that everyone is safe.

Don't let your memories die in a digital wasteland of your phone's camera roll and your computer's hard drive. Let them live in prints! All my client's images are put in an online gallery connected to store with a professional lab where you can purchase prints and products like canvases.

This month has been more of the same being social distant and staying home as much as possible. This month we would have been traveling to Cozumel, Mexico. I was really looking forward to going since Micheal and I have never been. I am hanging onto hope that this will be over fairly soon and we will be able to travel once again.

Who doesn't want an amazing soundtrack for your wedding day? I am a huge music lover and one time won $100 bucks on a bet by acurately identifying a song by Boston but I digress. I always see post from brides on Facebook wanted help on music choices for certain aspects of their day especially first dances!

I mean that should be understood without saying but let me be crystal clear. What I mean is that I live (as best I can) to be toxic free. Some people are curious about this somewhat new trend. For me, I found out about it via Instagram through a local photographer I follow who made this lifestyle change. Then my mother coincidentally gave me a diffuser for Christmas one year with some oils.

March has been absolutely wild and you know what I am going to talk about - COVID19 aka the Corona virus has really made an impact worldwide. Surprisingly only two of my weddings have been postponed but I am lucky it all worked out. I still remain as positive as ever and don't let too much bother me.

With working from home mandated these days it allowed me the chance to put the finishing edits on this shoot from last year. I even wrote most of the post just never got the images together. There have been so many projects going on lately, adding this styled shoot was something else that worked out perfectly.

It is such a perk to living in a town that has the history of Wadsworth Mansion at my doorstep. Driving up the tree lined driveway and seeing the pillars always is such a stunning view. The weather was very refreshing at 45 degree considering Mother Nature has been playing hot and cold with us with the temps

I remember passing through Collinsville one time a long time ago when I was working for Teddy Bear Portraits and thinking how friggin' awesome and industrial it was and how I had to do a session here. It took some years later but finally got the chance. Jillian and Tim just moved there recently and decided that this was the perfect location for their engagement shoot.
